Associates’ Work/Study Weekend:
Thanksgiving Beyond Imagination
with Elisabeth Thompson

In a year of worldwide stress and strain, we will gather to work, play and make Eucharist “Give Thanks” together.

We will first explore our individual perceptions of a God who imagines us into being, and how we portray that creative process to the world in which we live and move and have our being. What does this look like now? In the future?

Being imagined and breathed into being by God, we have great and frequently unrecognized power within us. We are co-creators with God and can tap into this creative energy ourselves, enabling us to have a transformative effect in God's glorious new creation.

Elisabeth ThompsonWe will explore ways that our acts of gratitude can direct these creative energies as we seek to be true to our call to do “More than we can ask or imagine", giving Glory to God throughout our lives - individually and corporately, young and old together.

My very deepest desire is that all who are gathered will have ample opportunity to share their creative imaginings with the community. (Yes, kids, this means you too!)

ELISABETH THOMPSON is a Family Physician and Anglican Priest who has been blessed to be a part of the Sorrento community for over 45 years. She now resides in Edmonton, Alberta with her husband, The Venerable Christopher Pappas, four children, two cats and a very active dog! Elisabeth exercises the creative, transformative, and healing power that God has breathed into us all in her practice of medicine, as a mother, and as a priest.
